What's Happenin'

Here I am on a Saturday night blogging... what is wrong with this picture? Not a lot, just wishing Clayton was here. You see, our schedules are pretty opposite these days. I wake up sort of early and go to work all day and if he isn't golfing our having to work a lunch shift, Clayton usually goes in to work later in the day and doesn't come home until late. We hardly spend time together! Weekends are the worst, he works doubles on Friday and Saturday nights so I don't see him until midnight or one most weekends. I'm grateful to have awesome friends to hang out with when Clayton works late. I'm also grateful to have a hard working husband. We usually do our date nights on Wednesday or Thursday night, usually dinner and a movie (our fave). It's always a treat to spend time just the two of us.

This is from our last date night, I made Clayton take this (obviously) haha he's such a trooper there wasn't anyone around to help take a pic.

We went to Trio...one of our go-to spots, can't go wrong with Trio! (it's where we had our first date! aww) and saw an independent film at Broadway Theater called Jiro Dreams of Sushi, Clayton's choice... it was actually pretty interesting! Made me want sushi badly!

We both can't wait for the day we can quit our jobs and hop over to San Diego. Where we can have more similar schedules, sunshine, and each other. Hanging in there! A couple more months!

Next month will FLY by, we have another vacation coming up!!! That's right people, we are heading back to MEXICO!!! Ay ay ayy! This time with my mom and little sister and for 10 DAYS! I am beyond excited. 

Then Clayton has a golf tournament in his hometown that he likes to play in every year called the Von Elm at the Blackfoot golf course. Big deal! ;) Then bam.. July will be here and we're gone. Kinda crazy how fast it's coming. I'm looking forward to spending tons of time with friends and family before the move. Hopefully saying goodbye to everyone...but let's not get ahead of ourselves!

My Clayton

Just thinking about how lucky I am to have Clayton. He always makes me feel so special and loved. 

The time is flying and we will be in San Diego in a few short months. The excitement is starting to be accompanied by some very unwelcome feelings of anxiety and then of course the slight tinge of panic...you can imagine the stress it causes a girl who has never been away from home or family. But Clayton has been nothing but sweet, patient, and understanding. I love how compassionate he is. 

The other night we were getting ready for bed after a long day and he opened his big arms for me to come over and after holding me for a little while he kissed my forehead and said, "you're my best friend." It's moments like those that make me just so happy to be who I am, and be where I am.
NOTHING else in this world matters to me but him.
I'd do anything for him.
The first year of marriage sure is different than you would think, but I am glad we get each other. Our relationship just works. We are learning more about each other and growing together every single day. And it's never been better. Which is why I am so excited to start a new chapter just the two of us in beautiful San Diego. Can you think of a better place to be with the one you love??
